WOMB
WOMB
“Womb” is a captivating circular artwork that evokes the intricate beauty of life’s origins. At its center, a vibrant array of colors in glossy epoxy forms a cluster of delicate, cell-like shapes, suggesting the beginning stages of life, cellular division, and growth. Surrounding this vibrant core is a deep, black, fluid space that mirrors the mystery of the unknown, representing the meiotic process of creation. The blackness is not stagnant but alive, with swirls that seem to float and flow like water, hinting at motion and transformation.
Shadowing the outer edges is a veil of white foam, blending into the black, creating a contrast that makes the piece feel like it’s suspended in the vastness of space. This transition from black to white gives the impression that what we see inside the circle—where life begins—is mirrored by the infinite, unknowable outside world. It’s as though the boundaries between inner and outer, micro and macro, are blurred, suggesting that the process of creation is not confined but universal. The piece invites the viewer to reflect on the interconnection between the known and the mysterious, the tangible and the cosmic, as if life’s beginnings inside the “womb” extend outward to where we cannot even perceive, beyond this world.
